OUR FIRST MEETING

Our First Meeting

How to Become a Client of Seastrunk Financial (And Why You Should)

Reaching out to a financial advisor can feel like a big step. Our first meeting is simply a conversation — a chance for us to learn about you and for you to decide whether we’re the right fit for each other.

There’s no pressure and no obligation. The goal is clarity.

What We’ll Talk About

We’ll start with your story.

  • What prompted you to explore financial planning?

  • What goals are most important to you right now?

  • What concerns are on your mind?

  • Where do you feel confident — and where do you want guidance?

We’ll also ask about your current financial picture — investments, retirement accounts, income sources, insurance, estate planning documents, and anything else that plays a role in your overall plan.

This first conversation helps us understand the complexity of your situation and whether our services align with what you’re looking for.

Who We Typically Work With

We generally serve individuals and families with at least $250,000 in investable assets who are seeking ongoing, comprehensive financial planning and investment management.

That said, fit isn’t just about numbers. It’s about whether you’re looking for a long-term advisory relationship that includes planning, coordination, and ongoing guidance — not just occasional investment recommendations.

If it looks like we’re not the right firm for your needs, we’ll tell you directly and, when possible, help point you in a better direction.

Here’s what we expect from potential clients—and what you can expect from us:

The Financial Basics (What We Look For in You)

  • Investable Assets: If you’ve got $250,000 or more in investable assets—or a household net worth that’s ready for comprehensive planning—then we’re probably a good fit.

  • Income Stability: You don’t need to be a millionaire, but you need to have a reliable income stream that’ll allow us to help you plan for the future.

The Right Mindset (Engagement Is Key)

  • Commitment to Planning: We’re not interested in quick fixes. If you’re ready to dive into a holistic plan that integrates investments, retirement, taxes, and estate planning, we’re all in.

  • Transparency: You’ve got to be open. If you’re hiding something, it’s going to be hard for us to help you. Full disclosure is the only way to get real, tailored advice.

  • A Partnership, Not a Transaction: We don’t do one-off advice. We’re in it for the long haul. If you’re looking for a trusted advisor to help guide you through life’s financial challenges, you’ve found the right place.

Your Stage in Life (What You’re Working Toward)

  • Preparing for or Entering Retirement? You need a plan, and we’re here to make sure it’s built to last.

  • Wealth Accumulation & Preservation: Whether you’re in the wealth-building phase or thinking about how to preserve it, we’ve got you covered.

  • Tax-Efficient Income Strategies: We consider the potential tax impact of investment, retirement-income, and planning decisions and help identify strategies that may improve tax efficiency. When appropriate, we coordinate with your tax professional.

  • Leaving a Legacy:

While we do not provide legal advice, we coordinate closely with your CPA and estate planning attorney to help ensure your financial plan is aligned with your broader tax and estate strategies.

What You Need to Know (Our Practical Requirements)

  • Location: Seastrunk Financial is a registered investment adviser in South Carolina, Louisiana, or in other jurisdictions where exempted from registration. For information regarding our registration status, please refer to our Form ADV.

  • Engagement Agreement: We’ll need a formal advisory agreement. Whether that’s a financial planning agreement, asset management, or hybrid agreement, we’ll sort out the details.

  • Compliance: We’ll work with you to make sure everything aligns with regulatory and risk assessments. This is a partnership, not a quick fix.

Your First Meeting (Let’s Get To Know Each Other)

No pressure. Our first meeting is a relaxed “meet-and-greet” where we get to know each other. You’ll learn about our services and pricing, and we’ll learn about your financial situation. It’s free and only takes about an hour.

The Second Meeting (Get Organized)

Let’s face it: Most people’s financial lives are a mess. Papers are scattered, accounts are forgotten, and insurance policies are buried. But don’t worry—we’ve seen it all.

In the second meeting, we’ll help you get everything in order. Bring whatever financial documents you can find. Don’t stress if it’s a pile of papers or unopened envelopes—we’ll work with you. If your accounts are online, we’ll track those down together. By the end of the meeting, you’ll be organized and ready for the next step.

The Third Meeting (Time to Set Your Course)

Now we’ve got the information we need, and it’s time to get serious. We’ll present a report with personalized recommendations. You’ll decide how to move forward—whether you want us to implement the plan or if you’d prefer to work with us as your financial mentor.

And then… we’ll talk about how to track your progress. If we’re in charge, we’ll check in periodically and make adjustments as needed to keep you on track.

Retirement introduces financial risks that are different from those faced while accumulating wealth.

For many individuals, retirement marks a transition from earning income to relying on investment portfolios, savings, and planning decisions made over decades. At this stage, market volatility, taxes, healthcare costs, and longevity assumptions can have a greater impact on long-term outcomes.

Seastrunk Financial Management, LLC provides investment management and financial planning services, including retirement planning, tailored to each client’s individual circumstances, objectives, and risk tolerance.

Our advisory services are typically most relevant for individuals with substantial investable assets and meaningful planning complexity.

WHY RETIREMENT PLANNING IS DIFFERENT

During working years, financial plans often benefit from flexibility, ongoing contributions, and the ability to recover from unexpected events.
During retirement, decisions related to withdrawals, asset allocation, and tax treatment may have longer-term implications.

Common retirement-stage considerations include:

  • Managing portfolio withdrawals during periods of market variability

  • Understanding the cumulative effect of taxes over time

  • Coordinating multiple account types and income sources

  • Evaluating healthcare and long-term care related financial risks

  • Integrating estate and legacy considerations into planning decisions

Retirement planning involves managing uncertainty and trade-offs rather than relying on averages or assumptions.

WHO WE WORK WITH

At Seastrunk Financial Management, we work with individuals and families who want clarity and confidence around their financial decisions. Our role is to help you think through the moving parts—investments, retirement, taxes, and long-term planning—so you can make informed choices about your future. Our advisory services are designed for individuals and families whose financial circumstances warrant coordinated planning and ongoing advice.

We frequently work with:

  • Individuals within several years of retirement evaluating investment and planning considerations

  • Recently retired individuals adjusting to portfolio-based income

  • Executives and business owners with concentrated assets, deferred compensation, or complex tax considerations

Client engagements are subject to suitability, capacity, and alignment of advisory services with client objectives.

OUR APPROACH

Seastrunk Financial Management, LLC provides advisory services in a fiduciary capacity. Advice is based on each client’s financial situation, objectives, and risk tolerance.

In the context of retirement planning, our work typically includes:

  • Identifying risks associated with withdrawals, market conditions, and longevity

  • Evaluating investment allocation relative to changing objectives

  • Coordinating financial planning considerations with investment advice

  • Considering tax implications as part of long-term planning

  • Monitoring and adjusting strategies as circumstances evolve

No strategy can eliminate risk or guarantee specific outcomes. Our role is to provide informed guidance to support prudent decision-making over time.

SERVICES

Advisory services are customized based on client needs and may include:

Financial Planning (Including Retirement Planning)

Investment Management

We take a disciplined approach to investment management, grounded in research and aligned with your overall financial plan. Every portfolio involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Our focus is on building an allocation that reflects your time horizon, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives—not chasing short-term market movements.

Tax-Aware Planning Considerations

General coordination of investment and planning decisions with tax considerations, in collaboration with a client’s tax professionals when appropriate.

Healthcare and Long-Term Planning Considerations

Discussion of potential healthcare-related financial risks as part of overall planning.

Estate and Legacy Planning Coordination

While we do not provide legal advice, we coordinate closely with your CPA and estate planning attorney to help ensure your financial plan is aligned with your broader tax and estate strategies.
